Most pain is acute pain, the result of injury or illness, and is gone in 6-8 weeks with rest and medication. Chronic pain is different. It affects the whole person, disrupting their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

A spiral occurs in which pain leads to inactivity, which causes muscle weakness, weight gain, and feelings of helplessness. Too many patients are told there is nothing that can be done about the pain. Using precision diagnostic techniques, we can often find the source of pain. Once the cause of the problem is known, a treatment is close at hand.
